As a disabled man in an electric wheelchair with limited space in my dayroom I had a variety of needs. Frequently it is difficult to express your requirements succinctly so it is as well to have an expert to interpret them for you. This was what was done helpfully and patiently. Different heights and different widths were no problem. In addition ideas that I had never thought of to make life easier. I now have a perfect work surface with drawers at the right height and in the right place additionally I have more than enough shelving in a corridor that still permits my chair to pass. Brian was extremely helpful as my expert and easy to work with. There was a wide variety of wood colour and finish is excellent. Nothing snags and everything runs smoothly. With complete confidence I would recommend BJ Shelving to any of my friends and acquaintances.

Dear BJ Shelving

We would like to say how pleased we are with the shelves and units that BJ Shelving fitted for us in February. As you know, our problem was the efficient use of shallow alcoves either side of chimney breasts in our living room and bedroom. Having seen your advertisements, we looked at your web site which suggested that you could provide solutions. We were very impressed with the efficiency of your response in sending David to visit and quote. He turned our ideas into a design and was able to arrange for a fitting date which meshed with our decorating plans. The fitting was fast and clean.

Having now lived with the furniture for a couple of months, we can report that it does all we hoped. The shallow bookshelves and the television shelf in the living room make the room feel more spacious while taking more books than our old free-standing shelves. In the bedroom, the cupboards behind the bed-head make use of space that was otherwise wasted, while the drawers are amazingly capacious given how small they are from front to back.

After having our living room re-vamped we needed a good shelving unit to finish off the room and provide storage for books and videos.

Standard units in retail shops never seemed quite right and none fully utilised the available space. So we turned to BJ shelving for a unit fitted to our specification.

We now have a 9ft long wall quality wall unit, with a mixture of cupboards, drawers and book shelves which stores all our books and videos perfectly, and it looks great.

I am very pleased with the design and construction of cupboards, with flexible shelving and glass fronted cupboards above, on one wall in my lounge. The installation went smoothly and took just a morning with the minimum of disruption. The finish and colour were excellent and the look exceeded my expectations. The flexible shelving meant that there was room for all my books and knick-knacks and it was good for everything to have a place instead of the jumble that was there before. The cupboards and retractable shelving for stereo equipment gave some sorely needed storage space. The price was very competitive too! Overall I would have no hesitation in recommending BJ Shelving to others. My friends and neighbours have all expressed their views on how good it looks!

I am extremely happy with the shelving and cupboards you have put up in my dining room. Most sincere congratulations and grateful thanks to BJ Shelving for a job 100% well done! The task was difficult given the need to accommodate some 3,000 books and periodicals . most of them hardbacks 24cm high or more (even up to atlases reaching 50cm.) . in sections of 8 or 9 shelves high within a limited area along parts of 4 walls. Precision with regard to shelf spacing was crucial if former subject categories were to be kept together. Brian could not have taken more trouble in measuring up and returned more than once to confirm for absolute accuracy over the plans. As a result the .default. spacing has worked like a dream, while the availability of up/down adjustment has already proved its worth when larger than average volumes have had occasionally to be slotted in. All the books and miscellaneous boxes were successfully fitted in with just enough room left for a few more.
Literally everything was done as promised and on the dot. ? and John & Alan worked seemingly non-stop to fit everything including a layout along one wall that was far from straightforward (given the need to avoid a boiler, its piping, and - further along . a wall-mounted convector heater), in addition to cutting neatly round double power-points elsewhere in the room. Having gleaned any information they needed to get from us, they stuck to it for a full 8 hour day behind a firmly closed door, only to open it again once more to reveal the pleasing new shelving gleaming and in place with the room itself cleared of all discarded materials and swept as clean as a new pin. Everything was left ready and on time for the new carpet that was to be laid the very next morning. For once, unalloyed superlatives are truly merited.
All this, please note, for £1,500 less than that estimated for the same job by their nearest rival! What more could you ask?

When we both retired recently we decided that one of our first tasks was to down-size into a smaller house. We moved from a house with four bedrooms and three reception rooms plus a very large study cum sewing room. We moved into a new house with two bedrooms and one room that had to successfully combine the functions of lounge, dining room and study.

We called Brian of BJ Shelving and asked him to design us a wall of cupboards, drawers and shelves that would accommodate china, books, CDs, and a computer and its paraphernalia etc. We wanted to maximise our storage but to have an attractive piece of fitted furniture too. Initially we chose BJ Shelving because of their experience. When Brian came to visit us he listened carefully to our tentative ideas of what we were trying to achieve and tried to accommodate them all. He proved very easy to work with and gave us a fitting date when he did the estimate. The fitters arrived on time and even brought dust sheets to cover our furniture. They were cheerful but very efficient and now instead of miscellaneous pieces we have a piece of furniture that is fit for purpose. We can find everything and are really pleased with the outcome. We would not hesitate to recommend BJ Shelving.
